The Anderson/Cohen Weightlifting Center is the home of Team Savannah, one of the largest Olympic Weightlifting Teams in the United States. The team is composed of numerous national champions, both male and female, making Team Savannah one of the United States premier weightlifting organizations.

The Anderson/Cohen Center provides many activities such as Olympic Weightlifting, sports specific weight training, team oriented training, senior adult activities, youth weight training, mild rehabilitative services and general strength conditioning. Also provided are fully equipped locker rooms including separate showers and dry saunas. The 12,000 sq. ft. facility has available 24 Olympic weight training stations, one (1) competition platform, standard free weights and nautilus equipment.

The Anderson/Cohen Center is proud to be able to provide top quality certified coaches and staff to the residents of Chatham County. We pride ourselves on being able to physically prepare our members not only for athletic sports they may encounter, but also for the strenuous activities of everyday life.

The family and staff of the Paul Anderson/Howard Cohen Weightlifting Center invite you and your family to join our family in becoming stronger citizens.

The Center also has Special Olympic Powerlifting. This team trains year-round 2 times a week and is for athletes that are mentally challenged. The athlete can also have physical handicaps, but they must be mentally challenged to qualify for Special Olympics. This team travels a minimum of 3 times a year.

 

Anderson Cohen Weightlifting Center Policy Procedures
The Anderson Cohen Weightlifting Center is open to all residents of Chatham County. The facility boasts Olympic Weightlifting training as well as personalized training for other athletes, weights, and nautilus equipment.

Anderson Cohen Weightlifting Center accepts cash or check.

Hours of Operation
Monday through Friday  8:00 am to 8:00 pm
Saturday   12:00 to 6:00 pm
Sunday   Closed

Check In
You must check in at the front desk and sign in.  Membership fees are due the first of the month.

Lockers
Members can utilize lockers with the permission of Team Savannah.  Members will need to provide their own locks.  Management reserves the right to discontinue locker use for members if they deem lockers are being used inappropriately. 

Prohibited items and activities
Alcohol, drugs or smoking are prohibited at the Anderson Cohen Weightlifting Center.  Not weapons of any kind are allowed at the center.  No photographic or video equipment can be used without the permission of Team Savannah.

Under no circumstance is any member to train another member for compensation.  All training will be conducted and approved by Team Savannah Staff.  If it is determined that paid personal training is being conducted on the premises, the trainer and trainee will be asked to leave and membership will be revoked.  The County policy for all facilities is to NOT allow training of members unless it is the approved management contract company.

No outside equipment will be brought into the facility.

No food or beverages allowed in work out areas.  Only clear spill proof water bottles.

Dress Policy

Anderson Cohen Weightlifting Center requires members to wear appropriate clothing and footwear while in the center.  Here are general guidelines:  gym shorts, T-shirts, jogging, aerobic and sweat outfits.  Please use a cloth towel to clean and protect machines.

No bare feet, open toed or high heeled shoes should be worn when using the equipment.

No low-riding or loose pants, low tops or short-shorts should be worn in the facility. No dresses or skirts should be worn when using the equipment. 

Jewelry such as rings, bracelets and long chains, necklaces or lanyards should not be worn when using the equipment.

Conduct
Anderson Cohen Weightlifting Center does not tolerate any inappropriate conduct.  Any member acting inappropriately will be asked to leave the facility.  No horseplay or foul language will be used at the facility.
