Knowing how to protect yourself can be a powerful skill, and the Frank G. Murray Community Center, along with the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), is helping residents build that skill through an upcoming self-defense workshop.
The workshop will be held on Friday, September 25, from 1-3 pm. The workshop is free, but space is limited, and registration is required.
Led by the CCSO, the workshop is open to ages 18 and up and geared toward the older adult population.
The purpose of this workshop is to empower aging adults with situational awareness, mental preparedness & physical skills to feel safe and confident in public,” said Jodi Moody, recreational supervisor at Frank G. Murray Community Center.
The workshop will provide information on preventative safety habits, simple techniques for hands-on defense, and safety devices.
Call the Frank G. Murray Community Center at 912-896-3320 to reserve your spot or scan the QR code on the flyer below.
