Description
Originally built in 1891 by the Central of Georgia Railroad, the Tybrisa Pavilion, a large, covered dance floor open to the sea breezes, was a popular entertainment destination for decades before being destroyed by fire in 1967. Led by the efforts of the people of Tybee Island, Chatham County built the Tybrisa Pavilion II in 1996, and later dedicated it to the memory of longtime Tybee Mayor Walter Parker.
Today, with the addition of an extended fishing pier, the spot is a popular destination for Tybee Island visitors and residents alike. It also serves as the anchor location for special events held on the adjacent beach throughout the year.
The space is available to be reserved for events hosting 12 or more people, such as weddings, dances, musical performances, and parties. The pavilion offers seating and tables, a concession stand, an ice cream stand, and a full-service bar.
