Know before you go:
Fishing or crabbing is permitted from the provided piers and from any safely accessible banks. There are no stations with running water for cleaning catches, however, so cleaning fish or crabs is not allowed on the fishing piers, nor is it allowed in any restrooms, pavilions or elsewhere on these properties. Fishers or crabbers are responsible for the safe and considerate disposal of all bait, broken lines or hooks, and any other discarded material that can be harmful to wildlife and unappealing to others if not properly disposed of.
Fishing or crabbing is expressly prohibited on all boat docks in order to keep these designated areas clear for boating traffic. Boat owners are responsible for properly mooring their craft and securing any contents thereof. Vehicles and boat trailers should likewise be appropriately parked and properly secured by the drivers.
Several of the County boat ramps and fishing piers are enhanced with outdoor picnic pavilions and recreation areas. The hours and regulations for these parks conform to other County Park guidelines: open dawn to dusk, alcohol and excess noise prohibited. To reserve a pavilion for a private or community function, please call Chatham County Parks and Recreation’s main office: (912) 652-6780.
Pet Policy: Dogs are allowed if on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Owners must clean up after their dogs and must not leave dogs unattended at any time in or near the park.
Service Animals: Allowed when serving in a working capacity in accordance with the Revised Americans with Disabilities Act Service Animal Requirements.
