L. Scott Stell

L. Scott Stell Community Park is a multi-featured park located at 195 Scott Stell Road, just off Little Neck Road on the west side of Chatham County. There is ample and convenient free parking throughout the park.

Four basketball courts, four tennis courts, and ten pickleball courts, all sheltered under three arenas equipped with lights and fans for comfortable, year-round play. There is also a playground, community room, volleyball area, four covered pavilions, a large freshwater lake stocked with bass and bream for fishing during daylight hours, a paved walking path and exercise course, and a boat ramp for small, non-gas-powered craft access for fishing.

Another unique feature of L. Scott Stell Community Park is the 32-plot community garden, freely available to be reserved for private crops. Another is the archery range and the wooded archery course at the rear of the park.

The park’s Jim Golden Sports Complex includes multiple ball fields with dugouts, bleachers, restrooms, and concession buildings, and is a popular spot for youth baseball/t-ball, kickball, soccer, and flag football during warm weather.

Hours: Park, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week; Pavilion & Conference Room, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.

Pet Policy: Dogs are allowed if on a leash no longer than six feet or in the fenced dog park.  Owners must clean up after their dogs and must not leave dogs unattended at any time in or near the park. Pets are not allowed in park buildings, on athletic fields or courts.

Service Animals: Allowed when serving in a working capacity in accordance with the Revised Americans with Disabilities Act Service Animal Requirements.
