Lake Mayer

Located at 1850 East Montgomery Crossroads between Sallie Mood Drive and the Truman Parkway, Lake Mayer Community Park spans nearly 100 acres. It opened in 1972 and serves as a major community hub for recreation and is still one of the most visited park in Chatham County. 

Along with a stocked, freshwater lake, amenities include a paved 1.4 mile walking and jogging path, community center, two pavilions, restrooms, playground, hockey rink, skatepark, RC racetrack, and courts for baseball, basketball, pickleball, tennis. The park also hosts multiple events each year, including Chatham County Parks and Recreation's annual Easter egg hunt.

Hours: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week 

Pet Policy: Dogs are allowed if on a leash no longer than six feet or in the fenced dog park. Owners must clean up after their dogs and must not leave dogs unattended at any time in or near the park. Pets are not allowed in park buildings, on athletic fields or courts.

Service Animals: Allowed when serving in a working capacity in accordance with the Revised Americans with Disabilities Act Service Animal Requirements.
