Take a short drive out to Chief of Love Road, near Georgetown, and you’ll find Al Bungard Conservation Area. A bit off the map, but its walking paths, picnic sites, and plenty of tranquil spots to cast a fishing line make it a great spot for those who want to get away from it all to spend some time in the great outdoors.
Part of the Ogeechee River Basin, Al Bungard features a stocked, freshwater pond, ample spots for fishing, a shaded pavilion with picnic tables, and plenty of trails. Along with fishing, this park is popular for hiking, bicycling, and bird watching!
