Description
Charles C. Brooks Sports Complex includes four baseball/softball fields, as well as a soccer/football field; the park gets used for youth and adult league practices in various sports throughout the year.
In addition to lighted baseball/softball fields with team dugouts and digital scoreboards, “Charlie Brooks,” as it is commonly called, provides bleacher seating, concessions, restrooms, ample parking, and a paved walking/jogging trail and dog exercise area.
The park also may be entered/exited via Concord Road and Chatham County’s Robert McCorkle Bike Trail.
The complex is named for Charles Coleman Brooks, former Chairman and commissioner of the Chatham County Board of Commissioners. Brooks also served as judge pro tem for Recorder’s Court and was an accomplished athlete and businessman.
